WHAT IF GOD CHANGED HIS MIND?

Human mind is subject to changes naturally. This happens because man is not perfect. Man needs to change his mind if he discovered that he is in a wrong track. Man’s mind changes to better or worse, it depends on his likes, and even commit lies to justify himself when he fails. “Promises are made to be broken” is a common statement at every corner when promises are being discussed. That’s man!
However, Good to man that he has a God who never lies, He never fails his promise for He never changes, for he is not a man. Man should avoid viewing God as man deals with things.

Balaam_2A good story from the ancient is the story of Israel versus Balak. Balak was a king of Moab described in the Book of Numbers who dealt with Balaam (prophet of medianites) for the purpose of cursing Israel (Numbers 22:1-5). He who had seen the greatness of God in Israel had not repented of his idols but rather wanted Israel to be cursed. He called Balaam, the prophet, son of Beor, (22:4, 5) and tried to bribe him to deal with the Lord with it. He did not fear God but rather he attempted to use God. King Balak seemed viewed God as a man that can be bribe or perhaps change his mind or purpose by man’s appealing or plead or any such.

God blessed Israelites as he had promised. God said to Balaam that He never lies, all what He has spoken is true and sure, it will never fail nor be modified by anything or power, for what He wills He will do. God words are His ways that cannot change. His promises are sure and good for those who love Him.

Balak was a total failure. He had heard God’s greatness, but by selfish interest, he ignored that privilege to enter into relationship with God and be a part of God’s immeasurable goodness.

God has promises to us. God exclaims I never lie! He surely fulfills them to us who believe in Christ Jesus. Christ said; “if you ask anything in my name, I will do it” (John 14: 14). This is our Hope and surety that God will not change His mind. Man should not doubt but joyfully claim it. Doubt might hurt the heart of God for doubt seems to make God as liar. That is why, Scripture says,

No one can please God without faith,
for whoever comes to God must have faith that God exists

and rewards those who seek him. (Heb. 11: 6 GNT)
